Our Promise

Owning an airplane is undeniably a significant financial commitment.

Consider this: the average airplane owner could easily spend over $14,000 annually on essentials like inspections, insurance, avionics upgrades, database subscription services, hangar rent, and the ever-dreaded unscheduled maintenance, which can strike at any time. And when it's time for an engine overhaul? The costs soar even higher.

But what if those expenses could be shared among a group of passionate aviators? Suddenly, airplane access becomes far more affordable and practical, especially when you can truly put the aircraft to work. Imagine sharing the exhilarating experience of tailwheel flight with like-minded individuals, forging connections, and building a community around your shared love for aviation.

For just $8,500 upfront and an annual membership fee of $1,750, you can become part of NCAs premier membership program. Membership gives you access to $35/hour dry flight costs and free instruction whenever needed—perfect for improving your skills or diving into new flying challenges. So, where does your investment go? Your initial deposit serves as a safety net, covering potential group mishaps or major damages not covered by insurance. It may also be allocated to immediate aircraft needs, ensuring the plane remains ready to fly. Better yet, this contribution is fully transferable to another member if you ever decide to leave. The annual $1,750 fee handles fixed annual expenses and "standard of flight" costs, such as compliance items and any issues identified by mechanics during inspections. Lastly, the $35/hour dry rate directly supports 100-hour inspections and oil changes—because more flight time means more maintenance.

This membership operates on a non-equity structure, meaning you won’t own a share of the airplane. That said, Northern Conventional Aeroworks (NCA) commits to making no changes to the aircraft without member approval. Every decision is guided by the best interests of the group and outlined in the membership agreement—transparency you can count on.

As part of this program, you’ll have access to a 1974 Maule M5 210C—a four-place IFR-certified high-performance tailwheel airplane designed for adventure. With its 924-pound useful load and exceptional STOL capabilities, it’s perfect for bold pilots and their families.

To participate, insurance requires you to hold at least a private pilot certificate. Each pilot must have 250 hours total time, including 25 hours of conventional landing gear experience and 5 hours in make and model—or complete 10 hours with an authorized instructor in make and model.
